As I repeat on a fairly regular basis, Twitter is probably the biggest and best tool our industry has in the online part.
A few years ago, many thought that Twitter was just a fun waste of time. It didn’t generate you any business and was at best a networking tool. But with the online double glazing community on Twitter growing every day and the amount of different areas of our industry online now, I think it’s fair to say that this is now not the case.
The regular Tweeters have now made some very good contacts with each other. Indeed leads have been passed, prices have been sent for others. One of the best recent successes due to Twitter is the Fenestration College gaining more contracts for their free NVQ qualifications. Without Twitter, I believe these contacts wouldn’t have been made.
Twitter is now paying dividends from a business to business point of view. At the end of last week I asked a question about brilliant cut glass and where I could get it, within minutes I had been given and name and a number to contact. A perfect example of how Twitter is useful within the industry. However one aspect that will still remain out of the reach of Twitter is gaining installers business from home owners. The methods of online search by customers is still very largely Google based. Twitter is still the realm of business in our industry, and not the homeowner.
Still, I think the micro-blogging provides and excellent service to our sector and will continue to boost business to business activities. Let me know your thoughts and if you agree.
i like fact Google register hits and so is directly related to website rankings.it shows you care

Hi Russell
I’m with you on your comment about the positivity within the double glazing Twitter community. It’s totally different to the actual world of double glazing which still seems to be a bit bitter and nasty – which is a shame. Lessons to be learned from our Twitter community?
Do you think the retail lead generation side to this will increase in the future?
Thanks for your comment!
