It was just over a year ago since I decided that a consumer section on this website was a good idea. I wasn’t going to rush into something like this. It needed planning. It needed thought. Not just chucking together. I had to think about what the site needed to look like. It had to be easy to navigate, with plenty of content on the main page for people to access. I had to consider the types of content that would be useful to home owners. A year later, I’ve managed to string something together!

A solid base to grow from
I do want to make it clear right from the start that the current version of DGB Consumer is not the finished version! If anything it is a base on which to grow the platform.
Most of the initial content is there, with just a few pages left to populate. Looking at it, I think this is a pretty good start, and a good platform on which I can expand the content of DGB Consumer into wider and more in-depth areas.
As the days and weeks go on, I’ll be adding more pages and more content to the pages already live. I don’t think this is going to be an area which is ever finished. It’s something that will evolve and grow over time, and may even become bigger than the industry side of DGB. I can see a lot of potential for this new area.
Bridging a gap
The whole point of DGB Consumer is to develop a site for home owners that helps them with everything to do with the UK window and door industry. At the moment there isn’t really a dedicated fenestration site aimed at home owners. So this is my attempt at trying to build that bridge.
I hope that as time goes on, home owners that find DGB online will go to DGB Consumer to help them with whatever questions they might have about our industry and products.
I also hope that DGB Consumer will grow big enough to become a resource that helps to educate and inform home owners about our industry. For me, the more the general public know and understand about our sector, then perhaps our relationship with consumers will improve. I have often believed that if people were more aware of our sector, our reputation might actually improve.
All feedback and comments on DGB Consumer are very welcome. It will help me to shape this area of the site and it will help improve it as time goes on. Please use the comments section below to give me your feedback.
Also, if you have any ideas that you think would be good for DGB Consumer, or you think you have some content that would work with it, please drop me an email at info@doubleglazingblogger.com and lets talk!
Congratulations! Looking forward to watching this become a major resource. Can I put an image with a link to it on my site?
