Edgetech have provided a trading update in relation to the coronavirus crisis via Linkedin:
*** Temporary Shutdown Update ***
In light of the escalation in the government’s guidance regarding the COVID-19 situation, we took the decision on 24th March to temporarily shut down the business for 3 weeks so that our employees could all adhere to the government’s guidance not to attend work unless absolutely necessary.
We have been closely monitoring the government statements since then and, based on the expected continuation of the strict social distancing rules, we will not be manufacturing for a further period beyond originally communicated.
In order to support our customers who are still operating during this time, manufacturing important products for construction of NHS medical facilities etc, we will be servicing some limited orders on a collection only basis at specific times.
To discuss placing an order for collection please contact Tony Palmer on tony.palmer@edgetechig.com or 07738 800779. By putting this into place we are able to keep our employees safe while balancing the need to keep our customers running as they undertake their crucial work. Stay safe everyone.
As a Government review is under way, and an expected announcement tomorrow (Thursday 16th April 2020) of an extension to lockdown measures for at least another three weeks, companies across the board are making their own announcements now ahead of the expected extension.
The consensus is that most across the UK fenestration supply chain will decide to remain closed, if they haven’t done so already. A few are look at getting back to work within a week or so, or at least partially reopening. But for me that brings significant risks as the demand for what we do simply does not appear to be out there.
There have been a raft of companies making announcements over the past few days, I’ll bring to you the most significant.
