As you may have seen on social media this past week or so, you’ll know that the industry has a brand new composite door supplier; Portico Doors. Formed by the popular industry duo Tony and Charlotte Craggs, Portico Doors looks set to join an already bustling part of the sector that continues to grow in the face of a challenging outlook.

Here is the statement that the company provided:

After a successful launch campaign, Portico Doors have officially opened their “doors” to the trade market.

Born from the creators of WB Group; a successful PVCu Window & door, door panel & composite door manufacturer, which was acquired by Customade Group in October 2016, Portico Doors are now open for quotes and taking orders.

Offering unrivalled choice, Portico boasts a wide range of composite door styles, colours, decorative glass & hardware options. Portico have secured a 35,000 sq.ft factory and invested in state of the art machinery such as a new 22 metre long bespoke paint plant, a Biesse beam saw, edgebander & 5 axis CNC machine.

Working from a blank canvas and utilising the management teams experience in the composite door sector, Portico have developed a “fit and forget” product having partnered with industry leaders such as Doorco, Veka, Yale, ERA and Brisant.

Tony Craggs, Portico Doors MD, comments: “The launch of Portico Doors is timely. We have a collective focus to provide industry leading quality, service and aftersales, above anything else. We see an opportunity in the market for a manufacturer who genuinely puts the customer first and wishes to build long term strategic partnerships. Despite only launching to the market a couple of days ago, the interest and wishes of support has been staggering, we are hugely appreciative of this.”

Installers and fabricators who want to learn more should call portico Doors on 0191 338 9033, email sales@porticodoors.co.uk or visit www.porticodoors.co.uk

This is an interesting time to launch a new door supplier. There are well-known problems with customer service in this part of the market, with some performing well and others very much the opposite. With a 35,000 sq.ft factory, the company clearly believes there is an opportunity to gain a good foothold in this part of the market. Tony and Charlotte are also well-regarded within the industry, so will likely be able to bring a lot of their clients from their previous business with them.

I wish them all the very best with this new venture and hope that they find success with it!
