Listers has launched MODUS By Listers, a 75mm window that achieves Future Homes Standard (FHS) levels of thermal performance, in a slim attractive design, and made using recycled material in its core.

“One of the government’s proposed methods of meeting net zero by 2050 is that newbuild developers must demonstrate a 31% reduction in their carbon emissions from 2024,” Listers MD Roy Frost said. “As a result, from 2025 it is expected that windows and doors in newbuild properties will have to achieve U-values of 0.8W/m2K or lower.

“But many developers and window companies are changing the way they work, now, rather than kicking the can down the road, and demanding this level of performance today.”

MODUS By Listers is made using profile from Eurocell. MODUS boasts a 75mm frame and sash that accommodates a premium 44mm triple glazed sealed unit. The system design has six equal thermal chambers delivering the optimum energy efficiency performance and can achieve a U-value of 0.8W/m2K.

“The key point here is that you don’t need to compromise,” Roy said. “The 75mm system makes MODUS suitable for refurb as well as newbuild, the rebate is slim with attractive pencil line welds, and you can specify a 44mm triple glazed unit without affecting its clean lines.”

Modus is available in Listers’ full colour range, including smooth foils, on competitive leads times, which makes it a serious alternative for aluminium systems, according to Roy.

MODUS windows also contain between 36% and 72% of recycled materials in the profiles, helping it to achieve a lower carbon footprint than any other product made in the UK. MODUS uses cutting-edge dual material extrusion technology, which layers post-consumer recycled and virgin material simultaneously – the recycled material is concentrated in the central core of the profiles, where it is completely invisible in an installed window or door.

MODUS is manufactured in Listers’ Essex factory, where the company has both the ISO4001 (Environmental Management) and ISO50001 (Energy Management) accreditations, which are often pre-requisites for larger projects.

“As we showed with how swift we were off the blocks with Sheerline – leading the industry with a modern UK-designed and built aluminium window and door system – our forward-thinking approach helps our customers take advantage of the latest trends in window design and manufacture,” Roy said. “And with MODUS by Listers, we have a FHS product ready for installation today.”
