In fact, the report, which is entitled ‘The Window Door and Conservatory markets in Housing in Great Britain’, even goes so far as to credit higher-end products and higher-value installations with offsetting a flattening of the market in 2015, during which total volume fell by 0.7%.
Of course, all of this came as no surprise to Morley Glass and Glazing, which this year completed a move to new larger premises in order to keep up with the increased demand for its popular Uni-Blind sealed units with ScreenLine integral blinds inside.
Designed for both domestic and commercial installations, Morley’s Uni-Blinds have always been manufactured using high quality materials and to a high standard, and are particularly suitable for bi-folding and patio doors, a part of the market singled out in the report for its potential moving forwards.
Said Robert Palmer, managing director of Palmer Market Research: “What we’re seeing are a set of very different fortunes for different products in different markets. Certainly, aluminium as a material type and bi-fold doors remain in the ascendency, building share in new markets.”
Of course, Morley Glass & Glazing also knows that a premium product must be followed up by a premium service, which is why the business has not only invested in its manufacturing resources and supply chain systems, but also in its delivery fleet to make sure customers receive their orders in the shortest possible lead times of just 10 working days.
