I tackled the issue of fuel costs on this site a few days ago. In it I explained that the high cost of fuel is crippling people and businesses and that the situation will son become unsustainable. Clearly, the country and it’s economy needs to keep going, even when we all move beyond the point of conventional diesel and petrol powered vehicles.
One thing that has always puzzled me is how deliveries would be carried out. At this moment in time, if petrol/diesel was to run dry, how would profilers get their goods to manufacturers? Can’t do it on trains, can’t fly it there, and electric vehicles are nowhere near capable or ready enough to cope with the size of HGV and massive loads. So how would we address this issue?
Every year millions upon millions of pounds is spent in this industry getting our good we sell from point A to point B. But there is going to come a point where diesel isn’t the fuel of choice. So my question to you is this: how would your business cope in a diesel-less industry without the back up from electric vehicles and how would you modify your business?
Adapting your business to non-fossil fueled vehicles isn’t probably the most pressing issue you have thought needed an answer, but I believe it is, and is one of those things that will probably creep up on you and catch you unawares.
Please let me know your thoughts and ideas on this!
