Corialis, a leading European designer and manufacturer of aluminium systems for windows and doors, is pleased to announce its acquisition of the European Gutmann Group (“Gutmann”), a renowned German manufacturer specializing in aluminium profile systems for windows, doors, and facades. This strategic move significantly bolsters Corialis’ industrial footprint in the DACH region while expanding its product portfolio with premium aluminium-wood systems and windowsills. Together, Corialis and Gutmann are set to provide customers with a broader portfolio of high-performance, energy-efficient solutions designed for sustainable construction.
Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Belgium, Corialis has been at the forefront of the design and manufacture of aluminium systems for over four decades. Since acquiring the company in 2021, Astorg, a leading pan-European private equity firm, has supported the growth and expansion of Corialis, which now employs around 3,000 people across nine sites in the UK, Belgium, France, Poland, Portugal, Spain, La Réunion, Serbia, and South Africa. The company, which is also invested in by CVC Capital Partners, has benefitted from long-term industry tailwinds such as the rising adoption of aluminium as the sustainable material of choice in architecture due to its durability and recyclability. This aligns with Corialis’ commitment to providing eco-friendly building solutions while maintaining best-in-class customer service.
Based in Germany with a sales footprint across the DACH region, Gutmann is also fully vertically integrated and active in the extrusion, insulation, painting, and distribution of high-quality architectural aluminium systems. Gutmann offers both Engineered Solutions & Systems products across a well-diversified portfolio with a deep commitment to quality and sustainability.
This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Corialis’ journey toward expanding its global footprint, enhancing its product capabilities, and contributing to a more sustainable future for the construction industry. Together, Corialis and Gutmann will deliver an expanded portfolio of high-performance, energy-efficient aluminium systems solutions, empowering customers with innovative products designed to meet the demands of sustainable construction.
The existing key management team at Gutmann will remain in place, ensuring continuity and leveraging their expertise to support a seamless integration and sustained growth.
Johan Verstrepen, Chief Executive Officer of Corialis, commented: “We are very excited to add Gutmann’s European operations to Corialis and view this as an important milestone in our growth strategy. Along with the regional complementarity, we are impressed by the factory and the machinery in place, combined with a well-diversified product portfolio, known for its quality. I would also like to extend a very warm welcome to the Gutmann employees of Weißenburg as they join the Corialis family. Our plan is to maintain the Gutmann brand under the current management team and continue to build on its success story together.”
Bruno Fijten, Managing Director of Gutmann GmbH, commented: “We are incredibly proud of the growth we have achieved over the last years and the level we have achieved establishing the company as a leader in the aluminium systems market. It has been an amazing journey, and we want to sincerely thank all our employees from the bottom of our hearts for their dedication and hard work.
Joining Corialis marks an exciting new chapter for Gutmann Germany. Corialis’ strong presence in Europe, commitment to sustainability, and focus on innovation make it the perfect home for Gutmann’s continued growth. We are confident that Gutmann’s customers, employees, and partners will benefit greatly from the opportunities this partnership will create.”
Nicolas Marien, Partner at Astorg, commented: “We are delighted to support Johan and the wider Corialis team as the company continues to grow internationally and develop its industry-leading product range. The acquisition of Gutmann represents a key step in Corialis’ journey to becoming a global leader in aluminium systems, combining innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence. We are confident this partnership will create significant value while contributing to the development of critical sustainable construction solutions.”
